Gatherd is built and operated by Be Mom First, LLC. We believe the less data we hold about you, the better — and you should know exactly what we do collect, why, and how to get rid of it. This page is the plain-English version. Eat one entree, not the whole buffet.
What we collect
- Account basics: the email + password you sign up with.
- What you log: meals, purchases, exercise, water, sleep, supplements, measurements, habits — everything you type or speak into the app.
- Photos you submit: if you snap or attach a meal photo, we send it to our AI provider (Anthropic) for calorie estimation. We don't store the image after the estimate comes back.
- Light usage analytics: first-party event records (e.g. "logged a meal", "viewed health page") so we can see what's working. No third-party trackers, no ad pixels.
- Subscription state (when applicable): Stripe customer + subscription IDs to manage billing.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not sell your data. Ever.
- We do not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other third-party tracking.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not read your photos beyond sending each one to the AI for estimation in the moment.
How we use it
- To run the app — show your dashboard, compute totals, suggest goals.
- To improve the product — aggregated patterns help us see what features matter.
- To process payments via Stripe (if you subscribe).
- To send transactional email (login confirmations, updates on ideas you submit) via Resend.
Data retention
- Account + log data: retained as long as your account is active.
- Meal photos: sent to the AI provider for parsing, then discarded. Not stored in our database.
- Account deletion: when you delete your account, all your logs, profile, measurements, and supplement records are permanently removed within 30 days. Stripe retains transaction records as required by tax law.
- Backups: our database has rolling 7-day backups. Deleted data is fully purged from those within 30 days.
Your rights
- Export: email shana@bemomfirst.com and we'll send a CSV of everything we have on you within 7 days.
- Delete: in-app account deletion is coming. Until then, email us and we'll process within 7 days.
- Correct: edit anything inline in the app, or email us if something's wrong we can't fix.
Where data lives
Our database is hosted by Supabase (US region). The app runs on Vercel. AI calls go to Anthropic. Email is sent through Resend. Payments are processed by Stripe. All five providers are SOC 2 compliant.
Children
Gatherd isn't for users under 13. If you're a parent and learn your child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
We'll post material changes to this page and email active users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
